The Dyatlov Pass Incident is a real event that took place in the winter of 1959. Nine experienced tourists went on a ski trip to the northern part of the Ural Mountains, but it ended in disaster. The bodies of the team were found mutilated and scattered on the slope of Mount Kholat Syakhyl.
