RIOT – Civil Unrest is a highly anticipated real-time strategy and uprising simulator that puts players right in the thick of some of the most famous clashes in the world. The campaigns include Indignados (Spain), Arab Spring (Egypt), Keratea (Greece) and NoTAV (Italy). Seventeen single-level scenarios take players to Rome, Auckland, Paris, London and Ukraine.

Leonard Menchiari, the creator of RIOT – Civil Unrest, is no stranger to uprisings, having participated in the NoTAV protests in Italy. He created this game to share the stories and feelings that protesters share. What makes a crowd so angry and aggressive? How do police officers feel when they are outnumbered during conflicts? Play as the police

• Use various crowd control methods, both passive and aggressive.
• Control assault, tactical and marksman squads.
• Call in backup: police trucks, a water cannon or even a tank!
• Decide whether to use smoke bombs, rubber and plastic bullets or even real ammunition.

Play as the protesters

• Give instructions to protesters (armed or passive) and journalists
• Incite the people to violent attacks or try to calm the situation with tactical regrouping and retreats.
• Attack the authorities using Molotov cocktails, fireworks, paper bombs, rocks, street furniture and the power of the media.
