Commemorative book is the official reference yearbooks produced in 89 provinces and regions of the Russian Empire from the mid 1830s until 1917. Produced by local officials and bodies of internal affairs.

The composition of commemorative books:
All commemorative book had its own characteristics. In the most complete form, they include four major sections:
- E-calendar (list of all provincial and district government and public institutions and their personnel)
- Administrative Handbook (information on the administrative division of the province, on postal and telegraph offices, ways and routes messages within the province of industrial and commercial enterprises, hospitals, pharmacies, schools, museums and libraries, bookstores and publishing houses, of periodicals, issued, and published in the province, lists of localities, lists of large landowners, and so the province. d.)
- A statistical overview (statistical tables of population, land tenure, agriculture, data on judicial statistics, medical, factory, public education, fire, income and arrears and so on. D.);
- Scientific and local history collection (source study, descriptive, research, and bibliographic materials archeographic).
